So, in the first few pages of “Legendborn,” we meet Bree Matthews, a 16-year-old girl who is reeling from the sudden death of her mother in a car accident. After the accident, Bree is in a state of shock and confusion, and her father and the police officer try to support her. We also learn that Bree had an argument with her mother before the accident because she wanted to apply to a school secretly.
