I think the “Frank Churchill” type character in this story is a woman. Very interesting! 👏🏻

I mean: “…after a good deal of desultory talk and description of the minnows and water-spiders, in whom Mr Clare seemed to take a deep interest, they went on with their book till the horses came…” (445).

A clergyman who takes interest in such tiny things seems to be on the right track!

I love this portrayal of a clergyman, Mr Clare. I would love a novel of his own story.
