Honestly not sure what I think of this yet. It’s suffering a bit because I picked it up too soon after reading the incredible Blackout/All Clear duology by Connie Willis and this does pale a bit by comparison. Still, it isn’t bad by any means. I do enjoy the epistolary format.

Still kind of a slog, for reasons that are difficult to pin down. I do kind of want to know what happened to Elizabeth, though I have little interest in the protagonist. Weird.

Over the 30% mark now and I think the main issue is that although this could be said to be charming and cozy, it lacks a narrative drive. It’s easy to put down and not pick up again, because it’s just not compelling. I’m reading a few pages at bedtime, so that habit pulls me along, but yeah…maybe it will pick up?
