Not sure I’m gonna make it through this. Lots of meandering asides and intricate, detailed descriptions that only beg the question: Why?
Did Proust not have an editor? Yes, he can certainly craft elegant, long sentences, but what if they’re collectively unreadable? What if his brilliant observations get drowned out by the cacophony?
