the overarching villain. Kellen and Nettle were great and their friendship dynamic was a great part of this book. The relationships on general were all really interesting, like with Nettle and her brother. I loved that Kellen was both a reckless idiot and incredibly smart at the same time. This was so good! I loved it! I couldn’t put my finger on what its writing style reminded me of until the end, but it’s Masters of Death. In the way that all the different critters and creatures had their own set of rules on how you must interact and talk with them. It was really cool, also fun to have different kinds of critters than the usual fantasy classics. I was a little unsure at first with the characters
