So far, so good. The cast is visiting a small oasis city in disguise. Feng Xiao disguised himself as a woman so he would get to stay pretty (originally meant to be in male disguise but didn’t want to look plain) and also torment Cui Buqu by pretending to be his wife 😭

He looks really fabulous honestly. got to see 2 illustrations of him in disguise

I reserved this book from the library nearly a month ago and there were like 5 people waiting ahead of me, so I wasn’t expecting it to arrive this soon 💀 uh, I am like, yes, I wanna read this but I was planning on some other books before this one. Now I gotta read this real quick so it doesn’t get reserved again

So far all the damnei I have read has been relatively plot-focused and quite minor on romance. I don’t really read that much romance (other than manga) to feel any kind of way about it. Like, I do enjoy plot, I do enjoy a good mystery and side story, but I am not big into slow burn anymore 😶‍🌫️ Why are all the damnei I read slow burns? Why am I expected to wait for a kiss for a
minimum of three volumes? 😭
