It's unlike this author to wait so late in the game to identify the time period, and all we get is that it's Edwardian, so anytime between 1901 and 1914. I do think I like her independently published stuff a bit more than her trad pub stuff.

FYI, this is a gothic historical first, romance second. I've seen a couple reviews complaining about the romance not being a bigger part of the book, but that's by design. It's an unfair complaint.

You can sort of get it through the plays mentioned (I went to Wikipedia, i don't have the dates of obscure Edwardian literature memorized 😂) and it seems to be about 1905, possibly up to 1910. Butt yeah, she left the time period much vaguer than normal.
