I saw very differing reviews of this book, some saying it was scary as hell, some giving it a 1-star rating and calling it boring. All I'll say is that I had literal shivers running down my bones while reading this. It is definitely effective for me.

I understand the narrative need for the parents to monlogue at their kid, but damn...Bela really does not need to be hearing all of this. Her parents treat her as a confessional.
