I went into this book wanting to get a better insight into what life with an alcoholic is like, in any relation or acquaintance, and what I have ended up with is an incredible (though sometimes dated) deep insight into the mind of the alcoholic themself. Being able to step into their shoes and see their own addiction and the misery it causes both them and everyone around them has been staggering.

I used to live a couple doors down from DR. Bob's house. The neighborhood is unremarkable and primarily serves working-class residents in Akron, Ohio. However, every June 9th, it became a madhouse, with people on tour buses all wanting to see the table where he and Bill W. sat to come up with the 12 steps.
