Had hoped to read it one sitting but there's a small spice part which I honestly. I kinda enjoyed but need to take a break from reading because my brain struggles to process those sorts of scenes.
The joys of my asexuality ;-; What I will say is I suspected at the start what was going on and I was right, and the way it was wrote did sound unique. Not your typical scene. Which I appreciated.

We have exploration of anxiety, and nerves, and this something that has been an on off theme in the book. As someone with anxiety, seeing how this impacts Ethan, the overthinking stuff like that, again- decent portrayal of someone who lives with anxiety. I like how it isn't just one thing, but almost anything can be a trigger for it, but then in the same breath it isn't always a trigger. Great anxiety representation.

"Nervous tic for him"
Okay so we do also have slight mention or a nod towards disabilities in this book which I do appreciate. But also having someone who is understanding and just like that's something they do is also cool because so many disabilities can cause people to have nervous tics. Interesting that its just implemented into the world, I appreciate that.

"I'm not a sidepiece" THANK YOUUUUU so many queer men, so many men who also like men, get used as a fun time, we don't discuss it enough. The fact this author has touched this topic in this book. I would read again. I'd buy a special edition of this book.
I also would like to tell people to read "Different for Boys" By Patrick Ness which covers the topic in more detail. It is a triggering book though heads up.

Ethan is as tactless at romance as me, if my boyfriend ever reads this book he would laugh and say "same , same." I really like Ethans character. Sexuality can be a difficult topic for men, its scary because of how society views us, but honestly, I feel like this is less fanfiction more: uh what the heck do I do. I like how it feels like it addresses that side of queer men. Its not in books enough.

Came back, continued reading, and seeing a straight guy go into gay panic mode has been my favourite part of the book so far. Like for guys when you realise, it feels so weird because you are so convinced hey, I'm straight like the other lads, but this book goes on to explore the concept in parts of other sexualities, but its lads talking to each other. I respect that. I really do

Okay. So two apparent straight men. I should laugh. I feel like I've read this before. But in the same breath, this book feels new. It feels different. I normally would be done and not go to a book at this point, but the author has created songs for this band within this and I want to know what specifics this is going to go into later. Its got me on worldbuilding. And confusion.

This book just sold me an orange tabby cat and I want one. Then again mine comes into my room, demands food and that I put my book down and screams at me. I don't need another cat
