Even better than the first one. These stories really show the complexity of the spirit world that is hard to appreciate it the first book. Book one’s focus seemed to be more on the human world and how it was affected by the yokai of the series. While now that we’ve gotten to meet the “main players” it’s diving more into them. 10/10

Piece by piece a greater picture is slowly formed. The last enigma of this book is intense. And also I perfect example of what I’ve been saying about the Owner. Is he evil? I don’t think so. Is he good? Still no. At least not by our standards. There seems to be a method to his madness but we truly only get glimpses. 10/10

Only read three enigmas tonight, but that third one always hits me hard. There are moments when the Owner shines through with motivations that seem like they stem from a place of deep compassion and care to then turn around and do something that seems truly malicious. It hate it but I love it. That’s who (or should I say what) he is. Also anytime we get character backstory is a treat!!! Even if it makes me tear up.

I. LOVE. THESE. STORIES!!! The art is so pretty and the tales are so intricate. Everything builds on each other in such a beautiful fashion. Every page gives us a deeper look into the hotel and its residents. I just can’t say enough good things.
