So, we have about 700 pages of setting up rules and characters and the setting, so we can really tight 150 page thriller in which a character has to figure her way out of a problem before she gets gobbled by a dragon.

So the structure here is a series of novellas in which the characters have solve or escape a problem caused by their little faustian bargain in book 1? If so, I think that's pretty fun. Book 2 is about Allie and Van on a plane that will be incinerated by midnight if they don't kill a particular man that they don't even know by sight
