If you find a sword that can only be drawn by the pure of heart, and you CAN draw it, then you should not hand it to someone else. It had a security system for a reason. That's very irresponsible of you.

I'm starting to think that the character modeled after a combination of Peter Thiel and Mark Zuckerberg might be bad news. I probably should have recognized that a lot sooner.

So the structure here is a series of novellas in which the characters have solve or escape a problem caused by their little faustian bargain in book 1? If so, I think that's pretty fun. Book 2 is about Allie and Van on a plane that will be incinerated by midnight if they don't kill a particular man that they don't even know by sight

Overall, this is well written, but at one point a character said hey "without bothering to say hello" and I'm really struggling to get over it.
