Jesus this is incredible. It’s insane to have read Islington’s most recent work first (the hierarchy series), and then this as his debut work after and see such insane growth in his writing, and yet also STILL see just how amazing he’s always been. His ability to layer a narrative, to create complex worlds and characters and weave them all together is astounding

I truly just love Islington’s characters and worlds. I adore how easy it is for me to care about where the story is going and who will be there and how it will all play out, I look forward to every single chapter and dread every single ending
