So when Taiwan Power tried to basically silence the people of the Orchid Islands by giving them free electricity, they basically protested by having the double energy consumption... sometimes these stories sound to fantastic to be believable.

The last chapter on Taiwan under Tsai Ingwen was not particularly informative for me, as I had Taiwan on my radar for about half of her era anyway.

He probably should have been more careful in using the term Puzi as a place of the Thao people as there is another placed called such in Taiwan. Apparently Puzi is another name for the Sun and Moon Lake, at least I think so. I had to search a bit and apparently Puzi is also called Tutingzi and is at or is the Sun and Moon Lake... I think at least.

I looked up this A-Mei singer and I can't say that her style reminds me of Madonna as this text suggests. However, what happened to her and losing access to China after singing at the taiwanese inauguration is something that might still happen today.

Can't be denied, it was Taiwanese investment that was a big book to the chinese economy.

I was in Taiwan two times and saw several blogs and videos of tourists there and absolutely never heard this Naruwan word that he equates with the hawaiian aloha in regards to tourism.

Wow., I wonder how often Taiwan and the USA clashed back during the Cold War. This here sounds like there were some hot tempers involved.

So where there is the Grand Hotel today was once the Grand Shrine by the Japanese, the KMT enforced chinese customs prior discouraged in Taiwan as part of their sinification process (makes me wonder how much they introduced that is considered normal today) and the imposition of Mandarin even restricted the workings of missionaries among the indigenous people.

Wow, the riots after the febr 28 incident really spread across the country and the reprisal was brutal. Allegedly the nationallist police killed more people than the wartime allied bombing raids. And the bombing raid has killed an estimated 5000 civilians.

Oh boy, I heard about Taiwanese having higher levels of education than the chinese and about the stories of chinese soldiers carrying stolen bikes away because they did not know you could ride them. But this here is new: a soldier believing water comes magically out of faucets after sticking them into a wall, officiers crashing cars they cannot drive and a teacher resigning because his students are already at algebra
