Finally tentatively looping back into some plot threads from the first book. Also, I'm trying to remember if Jude was a wheelchair user in the first book or that was a result of the ending of the last, and I think it's the latter? Missed character building opportunity for him and Alice to discuss it, especially bc he was and is the least fleshed out from Coram House.

Why would you just casually reveal the secret from Sasha's backstory?? Like it seemed like the first book was building to some kind of interesting reveal and then Hewitt just drops it in casually with no tension or build up or anything. This genuinely feels like Hewitt basically tried to reset what she wanted to focus on in this sequel, which is incredibly noticeable!

V big tonal shift and replaced most of our supporting cast with the morally grey love interest not even showing up until a fourth of the way through the book (and yes, I did count). Not necessarily bad, just confusing choice.
