i'm invested in the world (which i sure hope so with the time investment in these tomes) but i just feel like i'm missing some crucial emotional connection with the characters. maybe it's the writing style but i don't really feel like the POV voices change very much and events are just being reported objectively

Are you reading or listening to it? The audiobook reader added a lot of emotion to the characters that I liked!

The audiobook reader added a lot of emotion to the characters that I liked!"the first book basically all audiobook, this book is more of a mix. i can kind of see that but especially coming books like the aurora cycle that had voices so unique to each character (and it was also YA), it just feels like it's missing some of the heart :/
