i'm sorry i just don't believe anything about this romance... koen is such a dick to her and so hot-and-cold, but suddenly she loves him? serena, come on. the plot, the world-building and serena as her own person are really keeping me going here

i love serena but koen is the most annoying and shitty alpha male character i've seen in forever... nothing about this man's behavior makes sense? he's flat-out mean to serena, basically imprisons her, won't answer any questions and then gets mad when she does things for herself like show off her cooking skills or try to make choices for herself instead of blindly doing what he wants her to do. i hate this man.
