Omg I feel so seen

The scenes set in the present where Mab and Osla are being catty towards each other are so unrealistic for their characters I feel. These women are so intelligent and resilient like they wouldn't be making snarky comments about each other's looks/waistlines even if they did have some sort of conflict. They're acting like reality TV stars.

There are SO many random British phrases like I understand them using context clues but still

I may be reading the book a bit slow, but I'm so bored. The story is dragging on. I wish when Beth is describing how she breaks codes, the author included an example for reference at the bottom like a footnote b/c I'm so confused on how it works. I was cheering when Beth left her home though. THANK GOD!! BYE MRS. FINCH. YOU WON'T BE MISSED, HAG!
