One of those insane obstacle romance tropes coz there's no substance to why if this guy wants to be with her, since their coupling is in his control he should be choosing to marry someone else to protect her from his envisaged neglect brought about by a decision he made on account of a now deceased father... I guess romance doesn't need to be convincing to work and probably why I read to understand its appeal

Gosh, for once she acted with dignity. I think I don't like spending so much time inside Meg's head, it's infuriating and mortifying how obsessed she is with this jerk. Edmund seems to be a name attached to characters of quiet dignity.

I wish Meg was a much stronger character that she comes across as. It feels like she is just a love sick thing that this William can wield as he likes by simply being civil towards her...

Well, a break from reading the other book because the people there are just wretched. This one better not be more spice than story even if I paid zero dollars to get it.
