oh my god i BET shohei didn't "accidentally" text the wrong group chat at all. i'm guessing that he knows saku doesn't like surprises so he wanted to make sure he was in on everything and had a level of control over any birthday festivities. shohei is definitely the blunt one who speaks before thinking, but this really shows that he can be quietly considerate at the same time. what a sweetheart!!!!

so much of this manga feels like a celebration of the little kindnesses in life, how something so small can make someone's day and how having just ONE person believe in you can change everything. kaoruko getting so excited about having matching pens simply because it was something that rintaro picked out is the epitome of that

it's so adorable how open and honest they are with each other!! and they've always been like this, so it really feels like the natural progression of their relationship as it turns more romantic. i've loved getting more of kaoruko's perspective too since we're in rintaro's head most of the time!! she's usually so direct but she still gets just as nervous as he does

i am genuinely speechless my jaw is on the floor what do you MEAN it got even cuter. what do you MEAN the cake he made for her made her feel the same way that the cake did on the night they met???? and i also LOVE that rintaro doesn't remember cause kaoruko is so right that he would've done that for any stranger. it's just who he is, and i'm sure she witnessed it several more times before they spoke again
