I was very surprised when Marie explained why she didn't want to get examined by her brother Frank, this was because he “Molested Indian girls”. This made me look at Frank's personality a totally different way than I did in the beginning of the book. I thought Frank was a really normal person, and nice. It was also good to hear that Marie was doing better and she is hopefully going to recover from her sickness soon.

Quinn Carbone
Quinn Carbone is finished
I just finished the book, and after finishing the book, I really got a good understanding of all of the characters. Like Uncle Frank, as the town's war hero and doctor, but also really creepy. As the family started to find out what Uncle Frank was doing, the family didn't seem really surprised by it; they were all on Frank's side, not to get arrested, because he would then have the title of a sexual abuser.

I was kind of surprised when the mom was really protective of David because I thought that the mom didn't like David. But it turned out that she switched. I was really surprised when the book said that there were two men with guns looking for Uncle Frank. Were they trying to kill him or just scare him so he wouldn't do the wrong things he has been doing to the native american girls?

While reading the first couple of pages of this chapter, I was surprised by their family's decision not to bury Marie in Montana. I was also happy after I heard what the father did to Uncle Frank. If I am understanding it right, the father killed his brother, which might not have been the right thing to do, but it definitely will make a big impact and make Native American girls safer.

After reading this chapter, wow. I feel like a lot of things happened in this chapter with Marie passing away. I also still have a feeling that Uncle Frank is connected to her death, but I just can't prove it yet. I also think that David likes Uncle Frank's wife because he is going through puberty and he is changing a lot, and I wonder if Uncle Frank will find out about this>

When I found out that Marie had passed away from the sickness, I was really sad, because she was one of the main characters in the book. After reading about Uncle Frank again and what he did as a teenager was really creepy and inappropriate. One prediction that I think might happen later in the book is something with Maries death. I feel like someone had something to do with her death.

After reading tell page 58, I now look at the characters differently. I also thought that it was interesting when Ollie didn't know about what Uncle Frank did to the native american girls. I am also interested about the parents' fight that they cancelled the dinner reservations, and in the book, the narrator says that the car ride home no one talked, which made me think that the two parents were really mad.

When they took Marie to the hospital, I knew that her sickness was pretty serious. But before, Marie’s mother or Marie wasn't making a big deal about it because Marie said “it's just a little cold”, which made me think she would be fine. But after reading a couple more pages, I keep reading about what she is going through in the hospital. Such as “ A high temperature. Chills. Coughing.”

I was confused when David said, "I think Marie's sick." This came out of nowhere because it didn't really say that she was getting sick before this was said. The Mother wasn't really worried about Marie because she knew that it couldn't be a disease. So she just tried to keep Marie away from the rest of the family. But why would Marie want Gail in the room while she was sick?
