I read The Perfect Son for my book club and found it vapid, with a ninny of a mother who suspected her son of being responsible for the disappearance of several teenage girls, and who never questioned what her husband's business - something tech - was or where he was on many alleged business trips. The only reason I finished it was to be able to complain about it. I don't understand how McFadden can be considered a worthy author.
