Lady de bourgh is such a silly bad guy like why would you not just lie and tell Darcy that Elizabeth don’t want you.
I love Darcy’s reflection after proposing to Elizabeth again. However I hate that Ms. Austen just glosses over these big moments like this one and bingley’s proposal. It just kinda happens

The engagement with Mr bingley was very anti climactic to say the least

I’m finding it kinda difficult to get through this.
So now Darcy likes her and there’s so gossip. Still Rick people being rich idk I don’t get it

Elizabeth is such a good sister man.
All that admiration she has for Jane and she’s so protective of her.
Part of me feels like seriously just drop all of this but maybe she thinks that this can all end with Jane and Mr bingley together, which I must admit, is a fair and noble if not a little naive goal.

I love this line
“ let us flatter ourselves that I may be the survivor”
Because like why is everyone so openly talking about me dying in favor of somebody taking my estate like

Really hate this Mr Collins guy.
Like I guess it’s not his fault he’ll inherit the estate but the fact that he thinks he can make amends by trying to marry his cousin? And then to get all weird and annoying and condescending when she says no? Elizabeth had a really good line at the end that felt to me was kinda like “treat me like a human giving you a human answer”

There was a weird bit at the ball where Mr Collins goes on about how he would love to be able to sing, as Mary can, but cannot because of his oh so many duties as a clergyman

I don’t know.
Kinda mid so far.
Too many characters with the same last name and Austen refuses to use their first names.
We’ll see if it gets better.

Now imagine if Jane were to die because of a fever from getting caught in the rain just trying to pursue Mr. Bingley.
So uncomfortable. He barely knows her and now he has her bedridden in his home and all while hosting his many guests including his ornery sisters
