That was a twist I didn't expect. I can't really blame her for wanting to hurt the council. They deserve it, but the rest of them don't.

I wish someone would explain WHY the heart maiden isn't allowed to be romantic with anyone, EVER! Especially after the last heart maiden killed herself because her enclave killed the guy she fell in love with for being with her and it took 200 years for a new heart maiden, Mirella, to show up. Considering they CAN'T survive without her, you'd think they might change the rules or at LEAST have a good reason for them!

How many times does she need to be nearly kidnapped/killed before she stops sneaking away from her protectors?
