Madam Dyer always was a bitch

I knew that the Witch King wasn't good. But will Shaw believe Rosy if she doe tells her? Who will she be more loyal to?

Well that was tragic. Still, I can't help but wonder if the King attacked them first, since one of the men involved said: "He wishes to set our kingdom ablaze? This is our answer!" It feels more like a response. Is Shaw's dad really who she thinks he is, or is he lying to her? And did he have Rosy's grandfather killed & if so, why?

This is taking me so long to finish!

I didn't realize that the author was the female narrator for this audiobook & for One Golden Summer. She did a good job.

I know I should've read this book first, but I didn't realize it would spoil anything. At least I won't have to wonder what mistake Percy is referring to the entire time.

It's frustrating that they haven't really explained the difference between the types of witches & familiars & what each of their proposes are. All you get a little facts here & there that you have to try to piece together.

Shaw swore on her honor not to trap Rosy in a bond, so it's messed up that she's taking their courtship seriously when they agreed it was fake!

I'm confused. Rosy says that witches & familiars rarely married because the witch-familiar bond had so many more advantages. At first, I thought that meant that their bond was usually platonic, but so far, all the bonded pairs are couples. I just don't understand why getting married would influence or change the advantages of their bond.

Ellie's dead pan death threat was too funny!

I wish I had a friendship like theirs (with or without the romantic component). They're just so devoted to being there for each other & the way they're both so sure that NOTHING could ever come between them... it's rare.

Okay, she does. I forgot about that. Good for her.

If I'd been Riley, I would've thrown Owen under the bus & told her audience that he quit at the last minute & hoped it messed up his career goals because he totally deserves it.

She has the most thoughtless parents!

Joel is a bit high strung but he can also be really funny:

"She looks at you like you could go on a killing spree and she'd be like "Good job babe, they deserved it. I'll call my lawyer." -Joel talking about how Gianna looks at Riley

She should just tell Gianna what happened with her boss & explain why she told Joel the truth, instead of keeping it from her. She doesn't have to go into how her feelings for her have changed but she definitely shouldn't straight up lie to her.

I love getting Gianna's point of view during their years at University, but it would be nice to know what she's thinking at specific times. Like, would she want Ellie to warn Riley that being with her was a bad idea, or would she tell her to shut up?

I love that despite how awkward & embarrassing their misunderstanding was, Gianna reassures Riley that nothing will could ever mess up their friendship.

How is it possible that she was there for the entire summer, spending most of her time outside, watching them & NONE of them remember seeing her? She was staying right next door!

Okay, maybe rereading this right away was a bad idea. I'm getting bored but I hate trying to decide what to read next, which should be easy buy there are TOO MANY choices!

She should tell him that things have changed for her & why she was upset before she lets things go further

I'm really starting to worry something is really wrong with Charlie
