That has to be the most ridiculous villain origin story. The head mistress refused to tell her STUDENT about her tragic family history, which apparently makes her a liar who doesn't care about him! He's clearly delusional.

That teacher definitely has it out for her, I'm just not sure why. I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to get her expelled. I don't trust Fox either.

I feel like Vin should realize by now that she doesn't need to try to hide her magical accidents, as this school is clearly different than the others she's been to, but perhaps I'm expecting too much, since this is a middle grade book.

That's so stupid! The evidence is way too convenient. He knows how smart she is yet they broke her password easily! That should be proof enough. I can't believe he could condemn her so easily. Surely he has ways to get to the truth! What an assshole, all of them!

Okay, what the hell is going on? Is he really going to just ignore her like that?

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not really feeling the chemistry between them, at least not yet.

Why not call Lukas for help? She did agree to share new information with him anyway. Why take unnecessary risks?

This book is so creative, it's mesmerizing

The non linear time line is messing with me. I know she thinks she's making different choices based on things Nugau told her about their future, but since she doesn't know what those choices were, how can she be sure that they're different? It's interesting but confusing.
