At the beginning of Chapter Six, "Values: Living by a Love Ethic." I do not mind saying I find the chapter title most intriguing.

The late and great ms. hooks was truly insightful and wise.

As someone who is very spiritual, I cannot help but find Chapter Five, "Spirituality: Divine Love" very insightful, intriguing, challenging and comforting. Sometimes, all at the same time.

At the present time, my favorite passage from Chapter Five, "Spirituality: Divine Love" is this:

Imagine how different our lives would be if all the individuals who claim to be Christians, or who claim to be religious, were setting an example for everyone by being loving.

Moving along, slowly but surely, in Chapter Five, "Spirituality: Divine Love."

Truly, ms. hooks was a brilliant writer, her insights are beyond brilliant and superbly wise.

Although there is a part of me chomping at the bit to finish this book, sooner than later, there is so much to absorb from this book. And I have no doubt I shall read more books written by the late ms. hooks.

A few pages into Chapter Four, "Commitment: Let Love Be Love in Me."

The late and great bell hooks (nee Gloria Jean Watkins) was a truly insightful writer. This book is one I can read over and over again. I look forward to buying and reading her other works.

Near the end of Chapter Three, "Honesty: Be True to Love."

These essays are so well-written, and so very insightful. I especially love how the late and great bell hooks references other resources in each of the essays. I look forward to reading all the works she referenced. Of course, that means I shall have at least seven to-be-read towers, instead of three, but I digress.

This book is such a quietly powerful book, and it has opened my eyes and broadened my perspectives on love--truly, all kinds of love--in the short time I have been reading it.

Continuing to slowly savor this book, and still in Chapter Two, "Justice: Childhood Love Lessons."

I find this book fascinating on so many levels. Indeed, bell hooks has so many amazing insights into love and love in all kinds of relationships, not just romantic ones.
