It's pretty amazing to understand your own creative process in such a way that it could be written out in a book... There's not only an analytical approach but also vulnerability to it. Just something I was thinking about as I read.

A lot of " poop jokes to help understand the use of structure in joke writing" in this bit. It works, but it's a ton of poop.
My fave point made is about truth and comedy. The old adage of "Its funny because it's true" is not an accurate understanding of why a joke is funny, rather "it's funny because its structured" should be considered. Laughter isn't proof of accuracy.
