I'm considering more skepticism towards the "copyright" argument. Obviously there has to be more nuance within copyright arguments but overall it is very unnecessarily restricting and uneven. I feel like Disney's hand in copyright law is a good example of this.

I had never thought much about Shakespeare borrowing text before, but apparently he did a decent amount. Nearly a whole passage from The Tragedy of Antony and Cleopatra is a slightly reworded one from Plutarchs Lives.

The summary of how many ways something like Shakespeare can be interpreted is interesting, pointing out how his works can be directed as something that comes off as very left-wing or right-wing. It reminds me of more feminist interpretations of Romeo and Juliet. When a work is so broad and influential it can become a carrier for almost any message.
