I think Mirella's mom is lying to her about who her dad is, though she hasn't actually told her ANYTHING about him in the first place. But she was banished from Level when she got pregnant with Mirella because the father was supposedly not a tziganes, but if that were true, then how is Mirella SO powerful, let alone the heart maiden? I think her dad might have been a tzigane from Belleville's enclave. Dolan, maybe?

She finds out her mom has continued lying to her & has been suppressing her power her ENTIRE life & she doesn't confront her or get angry with her? Even though her lies got other people killed & put in danger? She swore she wouldn't forgive her if she found out she was lying about that. It makes NO sense! How she can stand being around her mom when she's always lying or refusing to tell her things about her OWN life?

I can't believe that she never even considers how suspicious it is that she was attacked outside of the club after her date, Phillip, left to take a call & never came back despite the fact that they were about to leave together!

Her recklessness is so frustrating

Doesn't she find it odd that a guy she's met ONCE is buying her a necklace? They haven't even exchanged phone numbers or had coffee. Honestly, Mirella can be really naive, immature & impulsive.

Since they haven't had ahey need a heart maiden in 200 years, they need her, so that seems like a pretty big bargaining chip to allow her to get married someday if they want her to join their enclave. Plus, if she tells them she isn't "pure" they'll realize that there's no reason for the heart maiden to stay pure. But of course, she doesn't tell them any of that.

ONE house of alchemists were killed & Mirella thinks that they're ALL gone & she's safe & free to return to her normal life?!! Seriously? If they only lived in ONE place, then why did her mom constantly move them all over the country? And she knows there are other enclaves in other cities. Plus, she was told the alchemists out numbered her kind by a lot, so obviously there are more than the ones they killed.

Theron tells her about this rare heart flower that strengthens their powers that they haven't been able to find in a long time yet it NEVER even crossed her mind to tell him that she found one on her porch (& still has it)! How can she possibly NOT remember that? It was like 2 days ago!

Why would you accept a necklace from a man who you've only met twice? And I knew something felt off when he would say something about it every time he saw her wearing it, esp. after she said she never takes it off & he says "Good. Don't." I feel so stupid for not being more suspicious of him.
