Truly a fascinating book with interesting arguments brought forth against Roman Catholics and on their use of the Early Church Fathers in justifying dubious fragments of their faith. However, I do wish there were more thorough examples and a thorough analysis of however many passages by however many Early Church Fathers.

His analysis on the Early Church Fathers is fair and a good example of what Protestants believe in. Whilst they may revere and respect the Fathers, they don’t hold their writings as infallible, especially due to the history of paradoxical and controversial views that may have been held.

The chapters pertaining to the matter of the affairs the early Fathers were dealing with and the multitudes of forgeries attributed to various early Fathers or forgeries cited by the early Fathers was fascinating.

The early, Primitive Church was the purest but unfortunately, our writings from that epoch are either limited or have been destroyed or vanished, which makes it unsurprising that after the 3rd and 4th century, the writings concerning the Church are greater in quantity and allow for Papists and the Orthodox to strictly concern themselves over.
