A new book by this author reminded me that I have a copy of an earlier work of hers on Kindle. And as I need a book that starts with a K, this seemed as good a time as any to dive into this.
She is a Canadian of Korean heritage, telling a story of Korean immigrants in Canada. This will either hit deeply or not at all for me.

I can't help but compare this book to XOXO and how different they are tonally despite the similarities with both involving a female child of Korean immigrants in North America. And its not just because of the genres they exist in. It is the differences in how they view their Korean heritage as a member of the diaspora. Which are something of polar opposites. Also, no Kpop in this book.
