well, i did cry a bit at the end. it was made to be terribly sad, after all. understanding the 3 storyline structure went a long way to letting me just enjoy the stories. i liked the writing. i suppose i didn’t hate the book over all.

i’m enjoying the writing, but the way the author tries to reveal something shocking is clumsy. the attack in Paris was like jerky movements after a smooth ride. the misogyny is revolting along with the abuse. and I think we are supposed to adore Bear but he’s just okay.

jesus i hoped it wouldn’t get worse. as tho the murderous abusive gordon senior was not enough, now gordon junior is a budding rapist 😡
