I'm having a really hard time with this book. The characters are odd. The heroine is a writer and her fictional character keeps talking to her disorienting. The hero is a tough Navy SEAL instructor yet totally clueless in dealing his 15-year-old daughter who just inherited on the death of the mother. He was never married to the mother and has had very little interaction with the girl.

This books starts out with a car chase in which the characters are strangers but live across the street from each other. Shayla is a romance writer with two teenage boys and Lt. Peter Greene a navy seal trainer. His 15 yr old daughter has gone missing and he is frantic to find her. Shayla's book character FBI agent Harry keeps talking to her in her head so at first it's really disconcerting and somewhat confusing.
