I still have doubts whether Diondra was pregnant with Ben's child - they way everything seemed it felt she was more attracted to Trey.

And we get to know Diondra's still alive and well. Still the mystery of the murders lies unsolved. Just the meeting which Patty had is something we never get to know about - how did she end up sleeping peacefully without trouble when everything was falling apart in her life?

What was more surprising? Libby meeting up with runner or Runner saying the baby might not even be Ben's in reality - raising a distressing finger on Diondra's character.

But from the way Diondra spoke with Runner - it was pretty clear they were acquaintances. Also, Ben trying to hide anything and everything about Diondra and Trey and the baby from Libby seems strange, plus her being reported as s missing person.

It doesn't take much to malign a guy's image and the accusations of children can be a terrible terrible trap. What I now wonder is the motive that Krissi had in trying to make Ben's life hell? Is it because he didn't reciprocate her feelings and also why did the other children join her in framing Ben was it because of her popularity?

Libby seems to be the carrier of ominous foreboding thoughts at all times!

Well if I was Ben and Trey tried to make me look stupid in front of my girlfriend - I guess I'd either make more fun of him or just hit him - with knowledge of a pummeling coming my way - also him lying on top of her haunches - even her character is weird, though the beer might have been doing its work.

The end made the story even more interesting. Libby seems to not have let Lyle get air of the letter from Diondra

Libby and Lyle's meeting with Krissi didn't play out how I thought it would - but was mired in her lies - which seems to be kept on from her younger years. Also as Libby pointed bringing Lyle was plain pointless more so making matters worse.

Diane and Patty continued on their search for Ben worried about his well-being and Libby finally took the step which gave her the hint that she really needed.

We get more clues why the pervert story might have caught on about Ben and also understand a bit about his psyche. He didn't want to be the pushover that everyone thought he was and wanted acceptance from the crowd - even blending some satan if it meant getting approval.

Also we might also have got a hint about the murders just may be.

Libby wasn't able to get through to Diane, but we did get to know why she had to stop living with her - and yeah the thing with the dog - it would have annoyed me too.

Libby has gotten another assignment and Lyle may be just correct with his eyes set on Lou. Also truly Libby is good with finesse - and her approach to keep calling instead of leaving a message. And through her approach it feels she might meet Krissy.

Good thing that came of Libby's greed is that she finely summoned the courage to face Ben and meet her elder brother. From all Ben spoke of it seems clear that he is indeed innocent. Libby looking alike to Libby is something I didn't expect.

Also the story of Krissy spreading via Diane to Patty in the small town didn't take long - and off course as one assumes in small towns - all fault was put on Ben.

Meeting with Ben coming up

When you first read Gone Girl and then come to Dark Places - reading on - you must wonder to think why is the former so overhyped whereas the latter is an easier read and starts off interesting from the get-go.

Alas, albeit greedy Libby has given a stroke of a chance of Ben being innocent met Barb and understood that even she thinks she wrote a terrible book blaming Ben for the murders.
Ben overall seems a kind chap
