Finished Chapter 7. Dr. Schreiner shows us that while works aren't necessary TO GET Saved, they are evidence that someone IS Saved. This is where people see a discrepancy between Paul and James. However, if one puts their words in the proper context, then we see there is no real discrepancy.

Finished Chapter 6. Dr. Schreiner shows us that the terms for justification are forensic and not transformative. Christians are imputed with God's righteousness and declared justified.

Finished Chapter 5. Dr. Schreiner delves into what the rest of the New Testament says about Justification. What I found illuminating was his breakdown of the 'difference' between Paul and James. When carefully explained, there is no real difference, just a misunderstanding of terms.

Finished Chapter 4. Dr. Schreiner shows us that Justification is found through faith in Jesus Christ. His grace is imputed upon us and we are legally declared righteous. Works of the law cannot make us righteous.

Finished Chapter 3. Dr. Schreiner shows us through examples in the Gospels, that Jesus taught justification. Even though the word wasn't always used, the idea was present.

Finished Chapter 2. Dr. Schreiner show us how Justification is riddled throughout the Old Testament. While he alludes and quotes from various passages, he highlights Genesis 15:6 and Habakkuk 2:4.

Finished Chapter 1. Read a brief history of Church Fathers, Middle Ages theologians, and early Protestant views regarding justification and works.
