Practically halfway finished. It needn't be this long...

So much filler, but I'm starting to believe it's necessary.

I'm glad I've stuck with this. Overly written at times, but still surprisingly good.

For the love of God, Danielewski can ramble on for pages about something that could take a 4 line paragraph. Still enjoying, but damn this book could probably be 1/6 as long and still have the same effect.

Jonfaith It has traversed my radar but I’m more than reluctant, having been burned all too often. Care to persuade me?

Josh Jon, let me get into it another couple hundred pages and I'll let you know. This is my first true experience trying him.

I was more of a postmodern type reader in my early 30's, so I've shied away from Danielewski now in my mid 40's, but figured since this seemed a little different than his previous books, I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm not turned off by it yet, but am intrigued.

Ken Ha-ha. Yes. I read a sterling review of this book and decided I should read it. Then I looked at the page count. Santa Maria! Like a 19th-century Russian novel! You'll let me know if all those pages are not only necessary but worth it, I'm sure.

Josh They'll probably not be necessary, but hey, I'm sure there's a process!
