Hold on! I’ve been reading ’ginger’ this and ‘ginger fizz’ that, out here thinking ‘never knew ginger was this popular in the 40s in Edinburgh’. And all this time according to the glossary, ‘ginger’ is what they called ‘any fizzy drink’?! Whit?!?!

I’m glad there’s a glossary at the start of this book, because I’m making full use of it! And here I thought i knew Scottish phrases
