So far I am really confused by this book, in some ways it sounds as though it is set in present times but the school secretary is only just getting a computer? I know that school secretaries locally had computers over 20 years ago! Also no mention of Ofsted? Academies etc. Even if its set in the past why no mention on National Curriculum or any of the many initiatives various governments have put in place.
