There are four short stories in this. I started with A Good Marriage, which is the last story in the book. It is inspired by BTK’s double life. Knowing what I know about BTK, I can totally see the connections, especially with the husband being a cub scout leader. I definitely got spooked a couple times, especially (SPOILER) when he came home in the middle of the night knowing she had discovered his secret. 3/5

I finished Fair Extension, which is the shortest story in the series. This one has actually been my favorite so far. It involves a sick man making a life extension deal with the devil, but in order for him to get what he wants, he has to pick someone he hates to take his bad fortune. It only gets messier from there! 4/5

I finished the Big Driver short story and this one has me physically cringing. I was definitely super unsettled most of the time, especially at the description of Tess’ injuries. TW: sexual assault, which I didn’t know going in (granted I didn’t know anything about this story going into it) and was hard to read. Spoiler: at least Tess got revenge.
