All the slice of life stuff is making me want to chew glass because it slows the pacing down so much. This could’ve been a lean and mean 400 pages of murder mystery but theres probably 200+ pages of characters just hanging out. This is how I know cozy fantasy isn’t for me 🤣

This is like one of the worst openings to a book I've ever read. Why are we giving lore dumps so early at random? Why do we need to know about all the Houses and stuff this early? It's like Maas is writing stereotypes about her own writing. Of course the girl is named Bryce, of course she's half Fae...of course she's got a quirky bestie...
