It seems like in between each book I forget that the writing has all the subtlety and nuance of getting punched in the eye.
I keep reading this series for a reason but it would be nice if there was an antagonist who had an ounce of motivation other than being Evil and slash or Stupid.

I maybe have just been in a weird mood the last couple days, but it does feel like this is the book that might get me to admit this is a bad series. Question remains whether it's bad enough for me to stop reading it.

The most obvious tell that Fidelias was going to have a face turn was that he has an actual psychology and perspective on the world that informs his decisions, a thing that no villain in this series is permitted to have.
