This is what Blood Over Bright Haven and The Name of the Wind both wish they were. Having a likeable protagonist does wonders.

This is so good it’s like candy. I regret letting other people’s reviews that call Vis a Gary Stu keep me from reading this. He’s really not, first of all, he’s just super intelligent. Secondly, it is so extremely, intensely refreshing to have a protagonist that’s not as sharp as a bowling ball. If you’re tired of idiot main characters, do yourself a favor and pick this up.

I know I'm super early into this, but it reminds me a lot of reading The Count of Monte Cristo, Vis is that type of incredibly smart like Edmond Dantes was and it's delightful. I'm rooting for you Vis

O god, speak louder!! I heard too many complaints that Vis is too perfect and that it's one of the reasons why they didn't like this book. For me, he's one of the greatest book characters ever, I love his so much! P.S. thank you so much for your friend request, you made me very happy ☺️

@Sana He has flaws, I think the people complaining have never read a book with a smart protagonist like Kvothe or Edmond Dantes they’re used to the YA moron protagonist 🤣 glad to have you as a friend
