Ok so why did he have to draw the monkey like that? Monkeys don't even really look like that. All the other monkeys look like normal monkeys except that one monkey. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, good. It's better that you don't know. I did not need to see that.

Having a modern map is sometimes helpful, but often the names used are older names that aren't on the map. Most of the mountain names are the same, so I can get an idea of what region each tale is from, but even then, sometimes they don't reference the mountain.

I had no idea that much of Japanese folklore was almost lost in the early 1900s. I have much to learn about the world.
