Another reread with the book club.

This is so epic! I have goosebumps.

Aaaand, done with the two towers.

Reading this chapter where the dark forces seem stronger than ever. Where Frodo feels small and insignificant. Where he thinks he‘s too late and his task won‘t make a difference, even if he manages to succeed. This chapter hits differently in 2022.

The Henneth Annun chapter is so good. The setting is so cool and Faramir is great. And it’s probably the first time I actually understood the gravity of Frodo‘s quest, when Faramir finally learned what Frodo intended to do and just looked at him in awe.

I forgot how precious Gimli‘s and Legolas‘ friendship is in the books. The plans they make for the future together… 🥺

Done with The Fellowship of the Ring. I will miss their journey together. Also, my heart goes out to Sam for knowing Frodo SO well. 🥺

I have so much love for Frodo!

As much as I love the cosy „we’re going on an adventure“ vibes at the beginning, I‘m glad the story finally starts to take shape from now on.
