Page 172: Mather informs Littlewood of a crime the previous night and where it was at. The problem? It’s the same crime that the author just stated Mather and Littlewood were both at.

Sometimes little things drive me nuts. Mystery novels that rely on someone piecing things together by reading lips, for instance.
Take the following example:
*The words I’d read his lips were: “…is dead… last night… it’s definitely murder.”*
No one outside of a lip-reading expert is going to read that from someone’s lips. And yet, here we are. Ok, I know, I should get over it.
