ANTAGONIST: The antagonist of Space Case is Nina. This is because Dashiell has many ideas about who the killer of Dr. Holtz is, and Nina shuts down all of his ideas immediately, saying that it was not a murder. Another example is when Patton tries to attack Dashiell and Patton cracks all the eggs in a chase. On page 122 Nina tells Dashiell, "You're on probation at this moment," even though it wasn't Dashiell's fault.

CHARACTERIZATION: In my book, Dash feels very real. He is a kid that seems very relatable with the things he says and does. He is kind of a trouble maker too. Also, the way he talks to people is very realistic. For example, when his friend Kira wants to go out onto the moon, he says, "I promise." I fully meant it. I just didn't think I'd have to." This seems like something a 12 year old would actually say or think.
