i'm not going to keep harping on it but there is a brand of ""poetry"" influenced by instagram and r*** k*** that has taken a subsection of people by storm that is. just so abhorrent. there's no rhythm to it. you're just writing sentences and placing line breaks in frankly baffling places. if you're writing poetry for publication, please for the love of GOD start trying. it's absurd what publishers let through.

i just can't stand the instagram style "" poetry "" in here. these are just sentences with incomprehensibly placed line breaks.

"it has never been the policy / of the Great Mother of Destiny / to stop me / from pursuing / any of my wildest schemes and ideas." like i just. sorry that's barely poetry and it's not good. yes i am a hater. sorry (not really, do better!)

yes yes 6 7 laugh it up. she has this page with a scribble of a stick figure woman and it says "you are innocent. if i can believe this, my life is beauty." yes, perhaps. however: some of us are not innocent! some of us have just detailed the extensive laundry list of notably Not Innocent acts!!! i'm not trying to get too catholic here but i fear u may have some soul searching left to do, ms gilbert!
