and it just feels like the more i study it the worse it gets. this religion has no moral code, thinks its self righteous and ruins people’s lives. they say God will love and accept you for who you are but to live with Him eternally i have to deny a part of myself that He created? once again i sound extremely rude but im js sick of this faith but i live around and only know christian people so i feel like if i admit this to them then they won’t want to be my friends and family anymore

i just don’t understand any of it really. God preaches about being fair but then He kills an entire family because one of them disobeyed. He kills entire cities because they sin. which He chose for humanity to be susceptible to sin. He put all of His people on a horrible path just to glorify Himself, but honestly who did He have to glorify Himself to? to me it feels like He just created people to show off to after putting them through years of suffering and hurt. like okay i like girls right? i am more attracted to women than i am to men and struggle a lot with my gender identity as well. people tell me that God loves all of me, but i have to deny that just to live with Him in paradise. but He CREATED me that way so it’s His fault by all technicalities

Girl if I’m honest I’ve been wrestling with my faith a lot the last. I’m not going to act like I have all the answers because I really don’t. I’ve just chosen to believe one day I’ll get to experience God the way other people do. But if I can tell you anything it’s that you aren’t alone 🫶

Yeah girl if you have any questions, feel free to pm me. But I will say something that helped me with my faith in understanding God are two Bible verses
Romans 6:23 and Romans 5:12 it tells us that the consequences for sin is death, and that every man is born in sin. But Jesus is our hope to break free from those sins. That doesn’t mean we won’t feel temptation to sin, heck I experience that every day. I have to shove thoughts out of my mind that are impure and ungodly. But it’s our constant striving to be like Jesus that is the true difference

it’s just that we wouldn’t be sinning or feeling the urge to sin if God hadn’t gone and messed up our lives for us to then go and fix it. it feels roundabout and selfish and i hate it 😭

Also I’ve been listening to Allison Eide a lot and she’s really relatable and idk if you’ve listened to her but I’d recommend her!

God wants us to “seek and ye shall find, knock and the foot shall be opened”. He wants us to ask! You’re not supposed to have to take it blind! But it’s also very important to remember His ways are higher than ours. To super simplify it, He’s sees a MUCH larger picture than we ever could. It’s like when you leave your dog home when your on vacation. To them, it may look like you disappeared for no reason, and aren’t ever returning, but to us we know why we went! Or when you let a small child figure something out, you may have to stay silent sometimes so that they can learn. I HIGHLY recommend Mere Christianity if you’re at all open!! It starts from the perspective of “what if Christianity wasn’t necessarily true” and works through the reasons why we believe. It’s a very powerful read and not too long at all! I read it in two days!! Just give it a try! And we’re here for you and praying for you!! God loves you! Even when it’s hard to believe! So so so many people (I dare say everyone) has had doubts and moments where they feel like God is silent. He has His reasons, but He never actually leaves. He’s still there for you! Please feel free to ask more or simply throw out more questions! We’ve gotchu!

It is very hard to understand how God works, and even though we may not be able to see it, he is working fairly and justly, it's just so hard for us to comprehend because we struggle to see the bigger picture. And a lot of the time, we feel like he isn't working, but later we will look back and be able to see the many ways he was shaping us when we didn't necessarily see him. It's totally normal to struggle, and have doubts, you shouldn't be ashamed of that! I'll be praying for you for sure

@bex a woman who I admire greatly once told me, when I told her I was struggling with my faith, said the struggling of faith is a sign you are growing in your faith, and that you must draw closer to God as your faith continues to strengthen and grow. Just wanted to pop back in and share that with you :)
