The skin is getting thinner and the jokes are getting decidedly more racist the longer the book goes on.

Again: In a list of best and worst episodes, the worst episodes are entirely fabricated titles and plots, getting more and more outlandish. If you think about them for even half a second, you realize the details don't match up and the joke is obvious.

The end of the list is Homer falling for a list of fake worst Krusty episodes.

Mike Reiss thinks we're all idiots.

The openly conservative dude hates worrying women and often 'forgets' the female characters, including Marge and Lisa? Look. Look at how shocked I am: -_-

Another example:
"We don't have writer's block for other professions. Can't fix your pipes, I have plumber's block. Can't remove your tumor, I have surgeon's block. Can't file your taxes, I have H&R Block."
Its a pun, but its fucking solid. Except he follows it with "Booo, the audience jeers, that's terrible. Where did they come from?"
Overwritten to hell.

There's a late-Simpsons tendency to over-explain the joke.
"I did [x]. However, I wasn't caught and never told a soul." Okay, tongue-in-cheek, but funny! That's not what we got.
"I did [x]. However, I wasn't caught and never told a soul. Oh. Crap." A little more obvious, but can still work. That's not what we got.
"I did [x]. However, I wasn't caught and never told a soul. Oh. Crap. I just told." Mangled.
