Bess, Joni, and Evangeline are all best friend's who just graduated highschool and decided to go to Greece. During this section of the book the reader discovers that Bess and Joni are starting to dislike Evangeline which lead to the friends being seperated, which was also caused by Bess and Evangeline's brother which made Evangeline react weird. "The truth was that Evangeline was too drunk to feel much anything."

This books starts by introducing main character Bess. Bess's mom is moving her family to Calabasas where Bess meets her new best friend Joni. The book is a slower pace but has very detailed context. Bess is describing her friend Freya's lifestyles, "a former model who watched TV from her cream Alaskan king bed most afternoons." (Berman 41). This quote shows how Berman describes many details to bring the book to life.

Hey Addison, this sounds really intense. The tension between the three girls seems like it is getting worse, and that quote shows how out of control everything is getting. Now I am really curious to see what ends up happening with their friendship.
